Who I AM
My name is Christopher Robert James, and I founded Learn L.A.S.T to help prepare pupils for the realities of adult life. I’ve spent over 25 years working in scaffolding, providing for my family, and seeing first-hand how much harder life feels when you’re not taught the basics early on.
Why I Created L.A.S.T
When my own children reached their teenage years, i realised that schools often focus heavily on exams but leave out vital life lessons – things like budgeting, renting, mortgages, pensions, and everyday responsibilities. These are areas that shape futures, yet most young people are left to figure them out alone.
I built L.A.S.T (Life After School Tutorials) so no pupil has to leave school unprepared. Every lesson is designed to be clear, practical, and relevant – the kind of knowledge that gives teenagers confidence and independence.
My Commitment
L.A.S.T isn’t just another educational resource, it’s a personal mission to give the next generation the tools I wish I had at their age. My aim is simple: to make the journey into adulthood easier, less stressful, and more successful for pupils, parents, and schools.
We’ve taken the time to create these courses practically to help young adults gain the skills at their own pace, you just need to give them the time to learn.
By introducing Learn L.A.S.T. into your school, you’ll be giving pupils a head start in life, arming them with essential skills that standard curriculums often overlook.
